improv doesn't stop

Although our own stage is currently closed for in-person theatre, we're still doing improv!

Check out recordings of our previous live shows on Facebook and YouTube.

Improv is a style of live performance where everything is created on the fly and nothing is scripted. Usually, the result is something insane, hilarious, and unendingly entertaining.

about us

Proudly founded in 1996 by Mark Robbins, Unexpected Productions: Spokane was the first incarnation of The Blue Door Theatre, with shows every Friday Night.

After four years of performing in a variety

of spaces, the company moved to their own location in downtown Spokane. Here with the help of Jason and Harmony Frederick the troupe officially became The Blue Door Theatre, a 501c(3) certified non-profit arts organization. It was so named because the front door was blue. In 2002 the BDT moved to its current location in the Garland district. Since its creation, the BDT has been an all-volunteer organization. Our performers, box office staff and board of directors volunteer their time and talent.

We'd love to hear from you
