Volunteer Job at BDT: Co-Box Office Manager and Board of Directors
How long have you been volunteering: I first started when the Blue Door was downtown in 2001.
Why did you get involved with the Blue Door Theatre?: The Blue Door Theatre was in need of some prop boxes for their scenes. At the time I was helping on a set at the Civic Theatre. The technical director at the Civic didn't mind if I whipped up some boxes during my free time since the Blue Door was nonprofit and supplied the materials.
Why do you stay?: The people at the Blue Door are awesome! I have never met so many talented people with such big hearts!
Education: Still working on a BA with a minor in physics at EWU, numerous education seminarsAA from Spokane Community College, Certificate in Japanese culture from Mukogawa Women's University in Nishinomiya Japan
Theatre Experience: Spokane Civic Theatre (25+ years set construction/stagecrew/concessions, 11 years Halloween costume rentals), Spokane Children's Theatre (18 years set construction/lighting), stagecrew /playwriting /art classes at EWU, stagecrew/acting/playwriting/art classes at SCC, various seminars on stagecrew and acting throughout Washington state, acting and stagecrew classes at North Central High School
Where from originally: Spokane Washington with my summers spent in the farmlands of Effingham Illinois learning to appreciate why "humidity, funny colored drinking water, and 3 foot insects in the Midwest" makes Spokane a great place to live.
Hobbies: Shorinji Kempo, Kendo, working out at the gym, drawing, watercolor painting, bead work, cooking, stagecrew.
