Anne Johnston |
President
of the Board (2002-currently) Treasurer (2008-) Business Operations Director |
| Job Duties: |
I have been involved with the Blue Door since
1999. I started out just "taking the money" at the door and now I am in charge
of the BDT Business and the BDT house and volunteers. I make sure there are enough concession supplies to make it through a performance, as well as preparing the theatre nearly every show night. I supply the programs and any other paperwork
needed on a weekly basis. I schedule the house staff volunteers each month for the
positions of Box office and Concessions. I also try to attain new volunteers whenever
possible. If you are interested in volunteering please call, email or visit us and let us know! |
| Why am I involved?: |
I am involved with the BDT because I believe in our mission statement. We are the only entity in the Inland Northwest who does innovative improvised long-form
sketch comedy on a weekly basis. We are providing something important and unique to the
art community of Spokane. I enjoy spending time with the people I love and helping make
the community a more entertained place. |
| Why do I stay?: |
I made a commitment to the BDT in 1999, and
though the commitment has grown to actually helping to run the organization now, I still
believe in what this company is doing, and I have fun being a part of it. |
| Education: |
English Literature BA Degree from EWU |
| Where from: |
Originally Eatonville WA, but I consider Spokane
my home. |
| Hobbies: |
Besides the BDT (which is truly my biggest
hobby), I enjoy going to movies, plays and other art related things. I have also
discovered the joy of writing and directing short films. I love tennis. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and I love traveling all
over the world---New Zealand being the last "far far away" place I have visited. |
